Empowering Women in Construction: rcs Leads by Example

At rcs, we believe that diversity and inclusion are essential to building a stronger, more innovative construction industry. That’s why we’re proud to actively support initiatives that empower women in construction, both within our organization and across the sector.

This year, rcs was honored to sponsor and attend the Women in Construction Forum, an event that celebrates the contributions of women and drives important conversations about equity and opportunity in our field. Our involvement didn’t stop at sponsorship; we showed up in full force, with more than 13 women from our Nova Scotia office and regional teams participating in the conference here in NS. Their presence reflects our commitment to creating pathways for women to thrive in construction and leadership roles.

A key figure in this movement is Valerie, Senior Project Manager based out of NL, whose leadership continues to make an impact both locally and nationally. Valerie plays an active role within NLCA (Newfoundland and Labrador Construction Association) and has been instrumental in advancing the Women in Construction Forum in NL. Her advocacy and engagement demonstrate the importance of representation and mentorship in shaping the future of our industry. Through her efforts, and the collective support of our team, rcs is helping to ensure that women have a strong voice in construction.

Our support for these initiatives goes beyond events. We see them as part of a larger responsibility to foster an inclusive culture where talent and ambition are what matter most. By championing diversity, we’re not only building better teams, we’re building a better industry.

The Women in Construction Forum represents progress, collaboration, and opportunity. We’re proud to stand behind these values and will continue to invest in programs and partnerships that make construction a place where everyone can succeed.
