Clayton Park School - Halifax, NS

rcs is proud to have secured their first ‘Progressive Design Build’ project, which is a newer style of a collaborative project delivery method that is currently gaining popularity with government owners. rcs is leading the collaborative team that includes Lydon Lynch and CS&P as the design leads, as well as the Province of Nova Scotia and the Halifax Regional Centre for Education. The new Junior High School will have a capacity of 950 students from grades 6 to 9 and, at 130,000 square feet, will be one of the largest Junior High Schools in HRM.  It is a three-storey building that will feature 37 classrooms, 3 music rooms, 4 science labs, and 2 technology education labs. It will also have a triple gymnasium as well as cafeteria, stage, and library.

The first phase of construction has already started with the clearing and grading of the site and with the foundations and structural steel packages going to be issued shortly. This build is truly a milestone project for rcs and it will be managed by the same team that is successfully wrapping up the Clare Elementary School.
